OPAQUE® DARKNESS RED BLEND 2014, PASO ROBLES

The word opaque means “impenetrable to light” and refers to the dark, inky, impenetrable color of our family’s proprietary blend. We were so impressed by the Zinfandel, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Petit Verdot, and Petit Sirah grapes from our estate vineyards in Paso Robles that we reserved them for this special wine. After aging in French and American barrels for 10 months, our hand-crafted artisan blend reveals ripe flavors of raspberry and blackberry with notes of spice and vanilla. Enjoy the darkness!

OPAQUE® MALBEC 2010, PASO ROBLES

The word opaque means “impenetrable to light” and refers to the dark, inky, impenetrable color of our family’s Malbec. Originally from Bordeaux and Cahors, France, Malbec is often used for blending with other grapes, such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. However, Malbec by itself has become know widely appreciated. We were so impressed by this wine from our estate vineyard in Paso Robles that we bottled it without any blending.

OPAQUE® ZINFANDEL 2013, PASO ROBLES

This delicious wine is made from grapes grown on our estate vineyard in Paso Robles, which is named Quarry Heights due to its steep, rocky hillsides and view of an old quarry. The head-trained vines grow on calcareous shale soils that impart a distinct minerality to the wine. After aging in French and American oak barrels for twelve months, our Zinfandel reveals ripe flavors of blackberry, boysenberry, and black cherry with accented hints of spice and dark cocoa.

OPAQUE® ZINFANDEL 2014, PASO ROBLES

Opaque Zinfandel comes from a vineyard in Paso Robles near the city of Atascadero on a steep hillside, a wine originally from Croatia, named “Crljenak Kaštelanski”. These grapes are grown in a very calcareous soil, creating very concentrated flavors. After aging in French oak barrels for 10 months, our Zinfandel reveals ripe flavors of blackberry, boysenberry, and black cherry with accents of spice and dark cocoa. Enjoy the darkness!
