Loma Vista Vineyard is located within the prestigious Arroyo Seco appellation of Monterey. In Spanish, “arroyo seco” means “dry riverbed.” The vines are literally planted in well-drained sandy loam with fist-sized cobblestones. The translation of “loma vista” from Spanish is “hill view,” which refers to the property’s picturesque view of the Santa Lucia Mountain Range. This region’s cool climate with morning fog and afternoon breezes allows for full development of ripe fruit flavors and the preservation of balanced acidity.
