Rancho Soledad Vineyard is named for the nearby Soledad Mission, which was founded by the Spanish in 1791. The property is located within the Monterey appellation. This region provides a cool climate with morning fog and afternoon breezes that allow for full development of ripe fruit flavors and the preservation of balanced acidity. The soils are derived from decomposed granite and impart a natural minerality to the wines.
