Sarmento Vineyard is located within the prestigious Santa Lucia Highlands appellation of Monterey. It is named for one of the original Spanish land grant families who owned the property for generations. The maritime influence of the Pacific Ocean creates morning fog and afternoon winds, making an ideal climate for the production of world-class Burgundian varietals. The vines are planted high on the southeast-facing terraces of the Santa Lucia Mountains and overlook the Salinas River Valley.
